WelcomeToWichita.com initally started as a simple idea to allow local small business owners a FREE place to post information about their service or products. We expanded o­n that and added a full featured Wichita Business Directory - complete with private owner admin areas and user reviews/ratings for products they offer. Any business of any size which conducts business in our area is welcome to join (totally free!).

Welcome to the great city of Wichita, Kansas.

  This site is the brainchild of Eric Henderson, a young local entrepreneur, veteran and REALTOR(tm).
"When I returned home to Wichita, after being discharged from the Navy, I saw enormous opportunity here. I was unable to continue my military career in electronics because I have Crohn's Disease, a potentially seriously disabling disease.

  I chose to return home to Wichita for a number of reasons. I saw potential here - for my family and for my professional growth.
Wichita is a great place to live and raise a family. The cost of living in Wichita is reasonable, housing prices are affordable, and the people here are respectful of each other. Education facilities like Butler County Community College, Wichita State University and other local trade and private colleges make professional growth, in whatever industry your curiosity might drive you, very accessible.
I've always been technically inclined and have been fascinated with the real estate industry since high school and all through my military career when I sold a little on the side.
When I returned to Wichita in 2000, real estate was on my mind - as well as internet services. I saw the need for a great community website to promote our great city and its' businesses. Too many locals were getting ripped off by national companies charging inexplicably large sums of money for out-dated online technology just to get minimal web presence.
My background in electronics and computers and desire for a better online representation of our community made my head spin - what I wanted has finally come to fruition.

We're working hard on the site and welcome feedback, ideas and donations - We welcome financial help, however you can also contribute by volunteering as a forum moderator, movie reviewer, local news reporter/guru, expert in your field willing to answer other visitor's questions and a number of other ways.
